Wild and deranged by substance withdrawal, Gary puts a mask over his head and enters a house looking for money for his next fix. The situation gets more complicated when the owner shows up and Gary, delirious, rapes her. Back home, he faces the ghost of remorse until the next morning, in an epiphany of sorts, he decides to turn his life around radically: no more drugs, no more alcohol. Now it is time to find a job and to patch up his relationship with his father, with whom he shares an apartment, and his sister. And yet this will not prove an easy thing to do. Cleaning a hamburger joint is not too exciting a thing to do. Running into his victim, who lives just a few metres away, does not make things easier either. Becoming a better person will be hard work – maybe too hard
