Synopsis Ben is 17 and his strict parents have planned a summer full of classes and social work with elderly people. He gets a job as an assitant to Evie, a retired actress who will unexpectedly give him the best summer of his life. This funny, witty, youthful and reckless woman will have him reciting Shakespeare, enjoying nature, travelling to Edinburgh festival where he will meet the wonderful girl who will be the first big love of his life.
Director bio Jeremy Brock has enjoyed a successful screenwriting career since 1985. He co-created (with Paul Unwin), the UK's most successful hospital soap, Casualty. Among his most memorable scripts are the acclaimed Mrs. Brown, starring Judi Dench as Queen Victoria and Billy Connolly as John Brown, which went on to be nominated for two Oscars, and Charlotte Gray, which starred Cate Blanchett, Billy Cudrup and Michael Gambon. He is currently working on a new version of Brideshead Revisited.
