Synopsis The longest-running and most fought for working conflict in the history of Europe was that of the workers of the Asturian company Duro Felguera. Throughout ten years, this collective fought relentlessly to get their jobs back, even locking themselves up in the tower of Oviedo Cathedral.
Director bio Born in Asturias, she graduated in History of Art. She has produced, written and directed several shorts, corporate videos and TV programmes. Since 1993, she is part of the film and documentary programming team of Telemadrid. She has recently finished working on her documentary feature Resistencia, and is polishing her script for the fiction feature Alegría, a project which has been selected for the Capital Regions for Cinema programme at Berlin Film Festival. She is a founding member of BAC MEDIA production company and ARDA (Association of Asturian Filmmakers). In 2000, her short El Beso de la Tierra, which she wrote and directed, was nominated to the Goya for Best Short Film and received the Young Jury Prize for Best Short film at the 37th Edition of Gijón Film Festival, among others.
