- THE CULTURE DEPARTMENT OF GIJÓN TOWN COUNCIL AND GIJÓN/XIXÓN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL BRING SMALL STORIES TO SPAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME.
The culture department of Gijón Town Council and the International Film Festival will present, in collaboration with the Maison Européenne de la Photographie de Paris and the ITEM Gallery, the exhibition Small Stories, a photographic series by the multifaceted artist David Lynch, which will be displayed at Room 2 of the "Antiguo Instituto" Cultural Centre from 15 november 2019 to 26 January 2020.

David Lynch (Missoula, Montana, USA, 1946), a multidisciplinary artist known for his work as a film director and actor, but also for his other facets as an electronic music producer, painter and photographer, presents in Small Stories a series of 55 black and white photographs through which he narrates a small story in which the elements that define the aesthetics of the magnificent, original and atypical universe that Lynch has been developing throughout his career are reflected.

Lynch, director of Eraserhead (1977), Blue Velvet (1986), Corazón Salvaje (1990), Carretera Perdida (1997), Mullholland Drive (2001), and the acclaimed cult series Twin Peaks (1990-1991; 2017), among others, will receive this October the Honorary Oscar Award for his entire career.

The Small Stories exhibition, which has been shown previously in Paris, Brussels, Belgrade, Lisbon and Budapest, will be presented for the first time in Spain, in the city of Gijón, within the celebration of the 57th Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival (FICX).
