Wilson is twenty-nine years old and arrives in Los Angeles with the intention of forgetting what arguably is the worst year of his life. He has broken up with his girlfriend, his car died in Arizona, and his computer was stolen, meaning the scripts he was working on are gone. With no purpose or plans in mind, it seems obvious his life needs a kick of some sort. Jacob, his best friend, suggests that he should post a personal ad on Craiglist. “Misanthrope would like to meet a misanthrope” – this is the beginning of Wilson and Vivian’s love story. She also is from Texas, moved to Los Angeles to become an actress and has just broken up with her boyfriend. They spend together the last few hours of a year that is ending and the first few of a story that is just beginning
