Synopsis

This is a story of romanticism taken to the extreme. Isabelle makes her living as a supply teacher. After being run over by a car, she meets Bruno, a small-time criminal who gets by on car thefts and break-and-enters. Though the relationship between them starts off as a one night stand, things get complicated and sentimental bonds that tie them strengthen. At the same time, the police, following leads which point directly at Bruno, start a relentless chase of the delinquent, which forces the couple to flee.

Director bio

Born in Strasburg in 1970, and raised in Mulhouse (France), Leonor soon developed a passion for photography and film. She is especially attracted to the works of directors such as Jean Eustache or Jean Renoir. After returning to Strasburg to study Art History, she joined the Limelight film-club. In 1994 she co-directed her first documentary short Napoli 90’ and since then she has worked in the audiovisual field under the name “Sarah Petit”. She received the Jean Vigo Prize for L’arpenteur (2001), a medium-length feature shot in Armenia with the collaboration of Michel Klein. Au voleur (2009), which competed at the Locarno Film Festival, is her debut feature film.
